| Some Macs using OSX have a setting in the energy's pref pane where you can adjust the processor speed.
'automatic' is the standard setting. Set it to "Highest" and you should feel the speed increasing. In Apple's Knowledgebase one can read the following.
Automatic processor performance was introduced in the following computers:
- PowerBook G4 (12-inch DVI)
- PowerBook G4 (15-inch FW 800)
- PowerBook G4 (17-inch 1.33 GHz)
- Power Mac G5
- iBook G4
If this also shortens the lifespan of your Mac is unknown, so be carefull anyway. | | |
